Warm welcome to new members


This month we have the pleasure of welcoming new members from: Switzerland, Finland, United Kingdom, Malta, The Netherlands, Belgium, USA and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

Laura Schorderet - Fribourg, Switzerland

With a Master's degree in Finance she was an Auditor at KPMG then served at the Baha'i World center in the Controller's office, her Current position is Resources manager at KPMG. There she is in charge of planning ressources, of managing budget processes, of following financial controls

Her Burning Issue: Probably sharing with others will open new horizon for problem solving

 

Liliane van Lier - Utrecht, The Netherlands

Liliane is a senior consultant in Strategic Research on Human Communication, specialised in youth communication and projects.

She has a special interest to broaden the general insight on how to use the gap between today's adult-aged generations and today's youth: How to guide the acceleration towards the next level of human communion and communication, as the tool for EBT.

 

Leyla Brassesco - Bormia, Malta

She has a university degree in Languages. She has worked as a Teacher and P.R.O. Founder of Soroptimist Intl. Malta and member of its Executive.

Leyla has a special interest in equal opportunities for women & men.

She is active as PR for EBBF's national representative in Malta Giovanni Pappalettera.

 

Mirjami Malleus - Helsinki, Finland

She is the co-founder and co-CEO of Remake Ekodesign, a company that produces tailor made clothes designed by the customers themselves using only ecologically friendly materials and production means.

She also offers training and workshops on career development and values-led decision making. You will be able to enjoy one of her workshops together with Janne Lemettinnen at this year's EBBF Annual Conference.

 

Hoda Shabrokh - Oulu, Finland

She is a student of Multicultural Education, final year. Child Rights Ambassador for Plan International. Interpreter: Farsi-Finnish.

She is eager to participate at the up-coming conference since many of my friends at EBBF have encouraged me to do so. My field is Int. Edu/refugees/human rights. I'd like to learn more about business and what baha'is are doing in that field. In the end all these global issues are interconnected.

 

Assieh Marion Khamsi - Switzerland

She is currently doing her MBA at McGill University.

 

Taraneh Jahanpour - Gorleston, United Kingdom

I have a degree in dance and interdisciplinary arts and have studied mime and physical theatre. I have worked as a dance and drama teacher to children, youth and adults for several years, as and English teacher to foreign students. For the past year I have worked in a community arts company helping to design and deliver educative arts activities. I develop and deliver projects for people to develop creativity, gain inspiration, knowledge and confidence.

 

Burning Issue: guidance on how to engage local industries and public services to support and engage in community projects I want to set up.

 

Andries De Vos - Brussels, Belgium

With a masters in commercial engineering/ICT, thesis in the field of change management he has worked for almost 6 years as volunteer for AIESEC (and recently full-time as president of AIESEC in Belgium).

He has a keen personal interest in travelling, spiritual practices, sustainable (human) development, responsible leadership, organisational design and social technologies, and social entrepreneurship.

 

Issue: As a junior in the job market, my primary interest is to find out about the employers and organisations that would enable me best to develop further clarity of personal purpose while contributing to making a difference so I would be happy to tap into the many experiences of EBBF members for advice.

 

Alim Beveridge – Cleveland Heights, USA

Currently PhD student in Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Interested in workplace spirituality, altruism (selfless service) in business and whole-system change.

Previously served as a consultant for ICT in education and social and economic development (SED) in Bolivia.

 

Rebecca Teclemariam-Mesbah - Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Masters of Arts in "Women and development" at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherland and Masters in Science, Biology, Poitiers, France.

She also has a PhD - Doctorate in Neurobiology, University L. Pasteur, Strasbourg France.

She ran a Research project for ˝Youth Leadership programme˝ on learning and teaching methodologies. Developed and published their trainers’ manual.

She Advises local women’s NGOs on fund-raising and project proposal writing on economic and education issues. Organize and give trainings on handicraft for women and art workshops for children.

Painting – Exhibited work in collective exhibitions - In preparation a series of paintings and photos on walls of Sarajevo

 

Issue: I am interested in finding ideas to go around corruption and the glass ceiling in regards to women's careers.
