We believe that the best way to benefit from EBBF is to find ways to get involved and to make a difference in your own work environment being helped and supported by this worldwide network of like-minded individuals.
The following projects are active and seeking your involvement, let us know if you have an interest in any of them or if there are other projects you would like to propose to EBBF.
- Values-Based Bonus Scheme
An EBBF member’s opportunity to create a new bonus scheme in his company was brought to EBBF. The company has asked Kimmo Vesajoki to develop a scheme that will compensate employees on the basis of how successfully they have implemented a set of values in their daily work decisions and relations.
This new project that first started as an opportunity to practically assist an EBBF member is now being developed into a wider EBBF project that aims to offer similar values-based schemes to other companies interested in underlining their commitment to values and ethics both internally to its staff and externally as role models of innovative positive incentives.
- Opportunities from Feminine Wisdom - Gender Balance project
A research program co-facilitated by Adrian Kielhorn and George Starcher aimed at highlighting the current issues of women in business and what companies are doing to harness the potential of this half of the working population.
This first step has been complemented by a number of interviews and entries in EBBF’s communication channels offering EBBF’s point of view on the current stereotypes and the importance of overcoming them. And on how the application of this principle has helped organisations become more effective and responsible.
Additionally a pilot “EBBF Women” project was launched in Slovakia by Zarin Buckingham to gather more insights into what EBBF members and contacts highlight as the recurring dilemmas and starting to find answers to them.
All of the above is just the beginning of a project that will see its full development during 2008.
- “Leading From Your Values” Project
This EBBF project started in 2006 and offers a set of practical tools that will assist individuals to redefine their role in today’s work environment. Irrespective of their formal position, it aims to empower them to become leaders capable of nurturing their personal ethical development while enhancing their effectiveness in serving the organizational and common good.
The project aims to break common mental models, offering a new conceptual framework for values based leadership and then providing practical tools that individuals can apply in their everyday situations at work. Refining leadership skills by enabling a systematic exploration of personal core values and by challenging to learn new concepts and skills.
- EBBF Training “becoming a change agent”
We offer a year of training, working for EBBF and learning the skills that will then allow you to sell yourself as an “agent of change” being able to implement values-based tools in a company.
You will learn:
- how to implement Corporate Responsibility projects,
- how to create and implement code of ethics,
- how to measure values in a company
- how to implement a values-based bonus scheme
- and a number of other tools working in the exciting environment of over 400 change agents spread around the world.
- Be included in the EBBF rostrum of speakers
Our mission is to promote the ideas and values of EBBF to an ever widening audience. We receive more requests to have EBBF’s values presented than we can cover, would you like to join the important list of current speakers?
- 101 ways to make a difference
Vahid Niazan came up with a common question: how can I take the first step in making a values-based difference in my workplace? Wendi Momen took up the challenge and is collating 101 ways in which you may have made a small or big difference in your workplace. It will create an EBBF publication and the examples will be made visible across our new EBBF communications channels.
- MBA presentation package
EBBF as an entity and EBBF members individually have an excellent track record of teaching in MBA programs. We are seeking for an individual capable of collating all that information and creating a portfolio of current and past EBBF MBA-related experiences. This presentation package would then be offered to a number of business schools with the aim of getting EBBF involved in giving more of our values in MBA programs.
- Articles for the INSPIRE E-Magazine
EBBF members and a readership of contacts of thousands of individuals spread around the world would love to read more of how your "story" of your deeper reasons for taking difficult management decisions, of your dilemmas in taking ethical decisions and of course of your successes and ideas, large or small. Reading of your experience can inspire many others to do the same.
- Develop EBBF’s knowledge
The EBBF Research Group offers interesting opportunities for EBBF members to meet some real needs and to contribute to the development of our Knowledge Centres.
For our Social Enterprise Centre we need brief reports on SE in any European countries.
For example, we would like a 3 to 5 page memo on characteristics and trends in SE, what organizations are active in this field and their web sites and activities, who is who in this field, and a brief bibliography of significant books and articles on this subject. We also need a short paper on Women Social Entrepreneurs, preferably with a UK focus.
We are working on other knowledge centres for which we need simply information - not necessarily reports or papers - but references to books and articles, organizations, web sites with a few lines if possible describing them. Here are some of the themes for which this material would be of immediate help:
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Business Ethics
- Values Based Leadership
- Work: The meaning of work, a new paradigm of work
- Trust
- Ethical Finance
- Sharpen your fundraising skills
Given EBBF’s priority to reach financial sustainability, we invite you to join a small dedicated team of individuals committed to learning or deepening their skills in fundraising.
Specifically grant writers who will work with the EBBF fundraising group to identify grant giving organisations, offer them EBBF projects likely to receive funding, writing the grant applications and then following up with the feedback of information that the grantor will demand.Fundraising is where foundations and non-profit organisations spend a good deal of their time. The role of the fundraiser is therefore one of the most sought after in this arena. We thus offer you an excellent opportunity to practically learn a skill that is very much in demand. On top of the personal satisfaction you will reach once you have obtained the funding that allows this entire organisation to operate.
