Denise Cumella taking sustainable enterprises to Catania
The University of Catania hosted EBBF's presentation offered by Denise Cumella who landed from Milan but Sicilian in her origins and heart to talk at the - THE ONE - Official National Event of AIESEC Italia.
Over 150 students from all the Italian Universities arrived in Catania to meet during the event that spanned two days from the 15th to the 16th of December.
The themes that were covered included different aspects of sustainable entrepreneurship such as new employment opportunities, new sustainable enterprise formats and the market's demand for an increase in this sector and how AIESEC's activities fit within this framework.
In this context Denise presented with competence and emphasis EBBF's point of view. She underlined the new ethical structure and methods of being an inspired and successful entrepreneur which revolutionizes the old and obsolete models. She showed how many organizations have already introduced these themes giving examples of diversity campaigns, the growing equal opportunities of women and men in all fields of endeavour and the opportunities that stem from the external threat of climate change, consultation as non adversarial decision making and so on.
Denise's presentation ended on a high with a long question and answer session that was forced to stop only by the fact that the session's time had already been overextended.
Riaz Rafat offered a number of talks on the theme of the global economic crisis at the Austrian Winter School. His programmed spanned the time frame of three days and was attended by the 280 participants present at the winter school last December.
Riaz Rafat, senior director at Telenor was particularly pleased and used his good sense of humour when offering his own 8 year old daughter's executive summary of his talks:
"Now, anyway, today we will talk about the use of money. We can change the world if we stop using money for stupid stuff. That way we can help the poor people to get more money. Soon you will see a map of the world, with different coulours; red, green, and blue. The red ones means that they are doing bad in money, and the green and blue once mean that they are doing well. Now, as you can see, many people are loosing their jobs. We should find a new way for helping them, not using money for stupid stuff. That way every person will get a job. And something else we can do is to give the poor people houses, jobs, clothes and all those stuff."

Attached you will find a photo from a lovely fireside held at our home today with Dr. Faramarz Ettehadieh.
We were 14 people this evening, of which 4 Baha'is and 10 non-Baha'i contacts. 2 of them had previously served as Presidents of AIESEC Serbia (Sandra in 2007, and Vladimir in 2008), and one (Milorad) as Vice President of AIESEC Serbia. The participants were all very exited about the topics presented by Faramarz (Baha'i concepts of service and social evolution, EBBF, 2 Wings, ethical training in his bank, etc.), and eager to come back to similar firesides.

It was one of our best Toronto turn outs I think. Your sign in sheet was full of names and email addresses. There were also many new faces...I really liked the format. I liked having a long networking time before and after the talk. It's true that we love to chat with one another, and this environment really did the trick. I enjoyed it very much!" - Samantha Fowlds
"I had a great time last night and I think there's more where that came from!" - Mahsa Amsipour
