The New Paradigm of Work: from Survival to Fulfilment
27th - 30th of September 2007
Depoort Conference Centre - The Netherlands
The fundamental changes in society, in the economy, and in the workplace are drastically changing the nature of work.
Today’s economic trends have created work-related “diseases” such as: unemployment, meaningless work, stress and workaholism.
There is a need to rethink the meaning of work and to develop a new work ethic adapted to a global, modern post-industrial society.
We can no longer simply regard work as a means of survival or to earn money to fuel an ever-expanding acquisitive economy. To be meaningful, work must be seen as an opportunity for personal growth and as a form of service to others.
If we recognize that we are both material and spiritual beings, and that the development of our spiritual qualities, or human virtues, is of overriding importance, then work must be redefined to meet this need for a deeper meaning in our lives.
To bring about the new work paradigm that will bring about deep fulfilment we need to successfully balance meaningful personal achievements, the positive development of our organisations and the broader vision of "enhancing the wellbeing and prosperity of humankind".
To introduce this new paradigm of work, EBBF offers a program with world level speakers, people who will share their own active role in bringing this new paradigm in their own organisations.
The keynotes will be balanced with consultation and workshops dedicated to addressing your own issues: we aim to bridge the gap between world views and what happens around you on Monday morning at work.
The images taken at past EBBF events shown in these pages offer an idea of how all of the above takes place in the unique EBBF atmosphere described by one participant as "informal, relaxed, almost like a family, at the same time surrounded by some great thought leaders and visionaries with whom you can interact. Everything happens in a very casual and comfortable way because of the environment that envelopes you."
You will be immersed in the quite beautiful nature that surrounds the Depoort Conference Centre creates a unique atmosphere that has ensured that the event has sold out year on year - all registrations will be accepted strictly in order of arrival.
