Youth today are renouncing the brand of materialism followed by the parents and grandparents, even as they suffer the consequences of the materialistic beliefs and practices that previous generations promulgated. Future generations must guard against developing their own brands of destructive materialism, and should avoid anger, resentment, and cynicism toward a society that allowed a materialistic worldview to so greatly damage their present and future.
