#RethinkSuccess pre-event online: dialogue with the speaker Nishat Ruiter

05.03.2020

Join this dialogue to rethink success ( the theme of ebbf’s 30th annual conference ) and the fourth in a series of exploratory sessions to give you new ideas and insights to reflect upon and take into action in your workplace.

Redefining success by acknowledging the unity of our spiritual and material well being.
In the western model of thinking, we are encouraged to develop our material well-being and acquire knowledge, skills and careers that help frame and define our path and way of life. Success is typically defined by the material ability for us to acquire wealth, resources and opportunities.
This is only one half of the formula. If we don’t develop our inner moral compass and understand what our inner voice requires spiritually, we will not be satisfied even if our material wealth has been met.

Here are the questions we will discuss:
How do we develop our spiritual side and inner voice if we don’t feel we have one?
How should we integrate our spiritual side into our daily work and life when our jobs and expectations don’t seem to align with a spiritual approach?
What are factors to contribute to developing a coherence between who we are spiritually and what we desire materially.

Quote to ponder on:
“Man’s abiding happiness is not in getting anything but in giving himself up to what is greater than himself, to ideas which are larger than his individual life, the idea of his country, of humanity, of God.” – Rabindarath Tagore

“All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization” – Bahá’u’lláh
“Vulnerability is the core, the heart, the center of meaningful human experiences.” – Dr. Brené Brown
