What we do | Vision, Core Values | Where we are | Where it all began | Who we are
In 1990, a group of Bahá'ís active in business and management met in Chamonix, France, to discuss their concern about the decline of ethics and values in business.
They decided to create the European Bahá'í Business Forum in order to promote the moral and spiritual wisdom and principles of the great religious traditions of the world.
These include adherence to the principles of justice, respect, trustworthiness, integrity and unity. And they derive from sources as ancient as Judaism, Hinduism, and Christianity as well as the 19th century revelation of Baha'u'llah, founder of the Bahá'í Faith.
EBBF began as an informal network of Bahá'ís active in business and management. As its membership grew, a Governing Board was elected and a more formal organisation took form.
From its beginning, members have attached importance to sharing their broad experience and to contributing to the improvement of management in emerging free-market economies of Central and Eastern Europe. In 1993, EBBF was registered in Paris as an official non-profit association. Its statutes provide that membership is open to Bahá'ís and non-Bahá'ís alike.
